As suppliers of industrial automation systems to worldwide manufacturing industries, product safety and liability is a significant challenge to understand (from an abundance of standards and guidelines). In response to this, Westbury have committed it’s own specialist engineers to serve as “Safety Field Service Engineers” as certified by TÜV.
This highly recognised qualification ensures that whenever Westbury are called upon to provide theses services, clients have the confidence to know that the information is technically secure and therefore without liability, or risk.
The main criteria for risk assessment relates to the machinery manufacture, or OEM, to ensure the requirements of Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC 2010 are met. From this directive, Westbury will implement selection of components, types of site installation and connections based upon supporting evidence through documented procedures.
Our adherence to the harmonised standards, BS EN 13849-1:2008, BS EN 61508-3:2010 and the ability to comprehend their definitions and support the calculations, allows Westbury to offer customer confidence in a potentially high risk market area of industrial automation, applied design standards EN ISO 13849 and EN IEC 6260.
From simple hardwired safety relays and operator safety interface products, through to complex software based and / or network connected devices, Westbury are able to offer a complete service.
