Westbury Control Systems Ltd has recently relocated its offices and manufacturing setup to Narborough, Leicester, just off Junction 21 of the M1 and not far from the city centre.
Westbury bring to the area a loyal and longstanding workforce of 40 plus employees. Having previously operated from Coalville’s Stephenson Industrial Estate, Glynn Westbury, founder and Managing Director explained the reason for the ambitious move: “The decision was made simply out of the need for more room and space – our expansion plans meant we had to have a much bigger place to grow.”
Their newly renovated workplace provides with them with just that. Visitors are greeted by an impressive Victorian fronted entrance and a branded reception area, leading to a suite of offices and meeting rooms in addition to several large manufacturing bays. The resulting overall footprint is approx 15,000sqft. An interesting courtyard area creates a central hub for the operation, bringing together all aspects of the business under the banner of ‘Westbury’s Works.’
Formed in 1999, to provide a full range of services from initial consultation and assessment, system design and integration, project management, manufacturing, through to on-site installation, training and support, Westbury design, manufacture and install integrated control system automation for OEM and end user clients across a broad spectrum of industrial applications. Westbury’s field of operation includes: Aerospace; Automotive; Energy & Power; Food & Beverages; Manufacturing Metals & Plastics; Security Screening; Quarry & Mining; Recycling & EfW and Transport & Infrastructure.
Glynn manages the business with his Technical Director, Peter Tongue and Operations Director, Paul Knott. They form an enviable ‘time served’ experienced team. Glynn adds: “Leicester’s useful connectivity and links was a key consideration in our relocation. Being centrally positioned in the UK, Westbury is well placed to oer services and support to clients throughout the country and overseas.”
Westbury’s solutions are designed and manufactured in the UK by an experienced team of qualified engineers and technicians, working long-term with Rockwell Automation and other world-class partners to deliver the highest of standards in the industry.
More recently, Westbury has begun working on a range of industrial control and automation projects for global players, Rolls-Royce: a very promising start to its new base in Leicester.
