The Role: Control Panel Wirers

We are looking for candidates with experience of fitting / wiring control panels for our wireman positions.

About you:

  • Be able to interpret and understand wiring schematics & GA layout diagrams
  • Be able to effectively wire control panels and equipment with minimal supervision
  • Be able to work to time specific deadlines
  • Have strong communication, organisational and attention to detail skills

The Role: Electrical Control Systems Assembler / Wirer Apprentices

A Westbury apprenticeship provides learners with the engineering skills, knowledge and transferable capabilities required to operate in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Sub-Sector. It is a Level 2 program of approximately 12 months duration and when completed leads into a further program of a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship of approximately 24 months.

About you:

  • Minimum: GCSE Maths, English, Science (grade C or above)
  • An interest in mechanical / electrical engineering
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take on board instructions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Hard working and can use own initiative
  • Reliable, energetic and self-motivated
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own workload
  • Polite, confident and friendly manner

The Role: Electrical CAD Engineer

Westbury’s engineering team have an electrical drawing / design vacancy. Reporting to the Engineering Manager and Technical Director, the requirements for the role are described as follows.

About you:

  • Be competent in the use of Eplan or AutoCAD Electrical (Eplan being our preferred platform)
  • Knowledge of how electrical control panels are wired and assembled
  • Be able to take initial designs and work into a completed CAD drawing for build by production
  • Be able to work to time specific deadlines and budgets
  • Be able to converse with clients in order to meet their final desired solutions and respond to customer changes during the design process
  • Electrical control panel design capabilities are preferable
  • Knowledge of installation and production of cable schedules are useful but not essential
