Westbury Control Systems completes a second phase of the continued expansion at this this foundry, having supplied the original systems in 2004.

The controls are asssociated with the raw materials makeup of scrap handling and furnace feeding.

Materials are batch weighed on dynamic load cells in a weighing feeder hopper before being transferred to an inclined bucket skip which in turn deposits the batch into a travelling charge car located on the melt deck above, both these machines are rail mounted. The car is moved under operator control to the furnace and the scrap materials and any additives are then fed into the electric induction furnace for smelting.
